Our mission
for a better future.

Sustainability at CORDENKA: efficient production, biobased material, sustainable innovations.

We are committed to collaborating with our suppliers and partners in the value chain to bring about positive environmental change. We actively contribute to improving environmental performance throughout the value chain, which in turn improves the environmental impact of our end products and enables our customers to prevent microplastic pollution. Because Rayon is an enabler of the bio-based circular economy. We are also committed to social wellbeing and aim to create further positive impacts and benefits through our sustainable innovations and business practices.

Sustainable Raw Materials

At CORDENKA, our commitment to sustainability begins with our main raw material: cellulose. We only use cellulose that is free of deforestation. This essential resource is both bio-based and 100% renewable. We are diligent in monitoring our pulp suppliers to ensure they adhere to sustainable forest management practices. Our suppliers are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC).

Advancing Cirularity

CORDENKAs cellulose-based solutions enable a shift from linear to circular economy.
CORDENKA unites the biochemical feedstock of  wood-based products (biological cycle) with innovative technologies that focus on closing loops in the production and recovery of raw materials and chemicals.

Combating Microplastics

Microplastic pollution is a major problem, as plastic is not bio-degradable. Viscose fibres, which are made from bio-degradable materials such as cellulose, can be completely decomposed by microorganisms under suitable conditions in the sea and in the soil. In addition, rayon fibres made from cellulose are free of plastics and prevent microplastic particles from being released into the environment during use or disposal.

CORDENKA Code of Conduct

Our core values are set out in the CORDENKA Code of Conduct, which was introduced in 2023. We strictly adhere to our own internal ethical rules and values and expect the same from our suppliers. The rules for suppliers are set out in the Supplier Code of Conduct.
This code sets out the ethical behavior we expect from everyone we do business with, including our suppliers, distributors and agents.

Emission Reduction

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global initiative that supports companies in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
More than 6,000 participating companies worldwide have signed up to SBTi’s science-based approach and are thus making a contribution to climate protection.

Sustainability-Rating

Ecovadis is one of the world’s largest and most trusted sustainability rating agencies.
With more than 150,000 rated companies worldwide, Ecovadis helps companies achieve their sustainability goals.
In 2024, CORDENKA was once again awarded the Gold Medal.
