Biobased
landscape engineering

Fighting plastic pollution with tailored biocompatible geotextiles.

Geotextiles usually only need to function for a limited amount of time, e.g. until concrete has hardened, or plant roots have fixed man-made layers of mineral substrates.

To this day, geotextiles are mainly produced on the basis of synthetic plastic yarns, creating a source for microplastic pollution. Rayon as a biocompatible material with competitive mechanical properties is the eco-friendly alternative to commonly used materials in landscape engineering.
